Mindful therapy for balance and self-compassion

Building Resilience Through Individual Counseling

I offer individual counseling services that are designed to help individuals overcome personal challenges and achieve their goals. Living and working in the Bay Area, many of my clients are highly successful and driven professionals /parents who have often  based their self worth on their accomplishments and have come to  find that the use of fear and negative self talk to achieve their goals  has led to problematic relationships with anxiety, stress,  burn out and/or depression. I help individuals learn to lead with love rather than fear by helping them cultivate the necessary self confidence, self compassion, and capacity to self regulate to begin living a life that is based on what is truly most important to them.

Therapy for Stress, Burn out, and depression

I work with people who feel overwhelmed, depleted, or stuck — whether from the demands of work, personal challenges, or both. Together we create space to slow down, reflect, and move toward a healthier, more sustainable way of living.

Support for Professionals in High Pressure Careers

Many of my clients come from the tech world, where long hours, constant change, and high expectations are the norm. I also work with professionals across industries — from medicine and law to education, business, and the arts — who face similar challenges with stress, performance pressure, and burnout.

Therapy Through Life Transitions

Career shifts, relationship changes, or simply reaching a point where “pushing through” no longer works — these moments can be overwhelming. Therapy can provide clarity, support, and tools to navigate change with more balance and confidence.

Teen Counseling

Adolescent counseling services are designed to help young people overcome a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and more. I use evidence-based techniques to help teens develop coping skills, improve confidence and achieve greater success in school and other areas of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at laynelcsw@gmaill.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

I do not bill insurance directly. Many clients choose to pay out of pocket, and some are able to use their out-of-network benefits to seek reimbursement from their insurance provider. I can provide a monthly statement (called a superbill) if you’d like to submit claims on your own. I do however contract with Lyra and if your employer offers Lyra as a benefit you may use your Lyra sessions.

Each session is 50-55 minutes. This allows enough time to go deeper into what’s happening for you, while also keeping therapy consistent and focused.

Yes — I offer secure teletherapy sessions, and many of my clients prefer meeting remotely. It provides flexibility, privacy, and comfort, especially for busy professionals. I currently see clients located in California and, soon, Montana.

I often work with professionals in high-pressure careers, including those in tech. I also work with people from many other fields who are experiencing stress, depression, burnout, or major life transitions.

Each individual session is $250
