Virtual therapy throughout California for burnout, perfectionsism, anxiety, depression, and meaningful career transitions

Your Life Looks Good on Paper—Yet Something Feels Off

Therapy for Thoughtful, High-Achieving Adults

Many of my clients are thoughtful, successful professionals who appear capable on the outside while privately feeling anxious, depleted, burned out, or disconnected from themselves. Together, we explore the patterns that keep you stuck, strengthen self-compassion, and build the clarity, confidence, and self-regulation needed to create meaningful, lasting change.

Burnout, Anxiety, and High-Functioning Depression

Many high-achieving adults become so skilled at pushing through that stress, burnout, anxiety, or depression can subtly become the new normal. Therapy creates space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and build healthier, more sustainable ways of living and working.

Support for Professionals in High Pressure Careers

Many of my clients work in technology, healthcare, leadership, law, science, and other demanding fields where performance, responsibility, and constant change are the norm. Therapy offers a confidential space to quiet perfectionism, manage stress, and reconnect with what truly matters.

When the Career You’ve Built No Longer Feels Like You

You may have worked hard, built a successful career, and become the person others rely on—yet something no longer feels fully aligned. For some, it’s burnout. For others, it’s the growing realization that the work, the pace, or even the identity they’ve built no longer fits. Therapy can create space to slow down, reconnect with what matters most, clarify what truly energizes you, and discover a professional path that feels more aligned, meaningful, sustainable, and deeply rewarding.

Getting Started

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, but it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

We’ll begin with a brief 15-minute phone or video consultation where you can share what’s bringing you in, ask questions, and get a feel for how I work.

Sessions are 55 minutes and offered virtually throughout California.

Experience, Warmth, and a Thoughtful Approach

About Jessica

With over 19 years of clinical experience, I help thoughtful, high-achieving adults navigate anxiety, depression, burnout, perfectionism, and meaningful career transitions.

I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan and later completed a two-year mindfulness and meditation teacher training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

My approach blends evidence-based therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, and positive psychology to help clients create meaningful, lasting change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at laynelcsw@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

I do not bill insurance directly. Many clients choose to pay out of pocket, and some are able to use their out-of-network benefits to seek reimbursement from their insurance provider. I can provide a monthly statement (called a superbill) if you’d like to submit claims on your own. I do however contract with Lyra and if your employer offers Lyra as a benefit you may use your Lyra sessions.

Each session is 55 minutes. This allows enough time to go deeper into what’s happening for you, while also keeping therapy consistent and focused.

I offer secure virtual therapy for clients located throughout California. Many clients appreciate the flexibility, privacy, and ease that virtual sessions provide for busy professional lives.

I often work with professionals in high-pressure careers, including those in tech. I also work with people from many other fields who are experiencing stress, depression, burnout, or major life transitions such as career transitions.

Each individual session is $250

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel big, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Reaching out is simply a way to see if this feels like the right fit for you.
